I am commanded by the Lords Commissioners of Her Majesty's Treasury to acknowledge the receipt of your letter 15th ultimo, transmitting copy of a Despatch from the Governor of Hong Kong covering copy of a letter from the Manager of the Hong Kong and Shanghai Bank requesting, on behalf of the Directors, permission to postpone the call on the shareholders for the balance of the original capital (£5,000,000) for 5 years beyond the time fixed.
